Maaoupe Road Block of the Month by Helen Stubbings
Thanks for joining us in the row by row of the Month journey down Maaoupe Road.
The quilt pattern has been designed by Helen Stubbings of Hugs ‘n Kisses and uses her signature turned edge applique technique and HNK Applique paper.
You can choose to use whatever method you wish but may need to reverse or
adjust the templates to suit. There are eight rows in the quilt project.
The pattern each month also includes laser cut custom sets of templates - these are cut from our Applique paper and saves you printing and/or tracing and cutting your applique templates. EPP iron-on 1” hexies are also included in each month pattern pack.
The quilt is designed to be made ’scrappy’. All backgrounds are a single linen fabric and applique and EPP are randomly chosen from the 16 fabrics from your colour-way choice.
The block instructions are simple - you will need a mild level of quilting experience in applique and english paper piecing but we take you through every step of the way.
We have many YouTube videos on Helens method which will cover everything you need to know about the gluestick applique method and Iron on - leave in hexies.
You have a choice of four colour-ways to choose from.
Blues - selection of Laundry Basket stunning blues
Red - selection of French General stunning reds and creams
Tilda selection from the stunning 25th Jubilee range
Note: the images on the colour choices are an indication on what you will be recieving, fabrics may change but will be perfect for the colour you have chosen.
In Month One you will have all 16 fabrics that will be used for all the applique. This way you can have the choice of what fabrics you want to use for each design. You will also have a 9” strip of linen for the background, 2m of a stabiliser and two DMC threads to match your colourway choice.
Cost - Month One $100-00 and then Month Two - Eight will be $44-00 per month.
