Week Nine - Circling Geese

Hi there

Welcome to Week Nine for our Sew A Long 2020. This week we are making a block called Circling Geese.

A few weeks ago we made flying geese blocks in our Geese Tracks Block - week 5. I had mentioned that there are a couple of ways of making a flying geese block so thought we would try the other method this week.

With this weeks method, you are making four matching blocks from one square - sounds odd I know but it works. This is my preferred method as it gives you a bit of wiggle room to square up your blocks - yay!.

Please check out our tutorial on our Facebook page - Delbrook Quilt Company or our Instagram page - delbrookquiltco so you can see as well as read the pattern.

As much as I love this method, the only down side is that you get four matching blocks. If you are wanting a scrappy look or you only need two blocks, then this wont work and you would have to go back to the first method we used.

If you are wanting to make more blocks and in different sizes, the maths of working out the different sizes needed in all a bit much. Thankfully there is a chart for these measurements below - not worked out by me but by Amy Smart of Diary of A Quilter. I love that she has done this.

Have a great week, see you next Wednesday.
